Collection Services

Urban ratepayers in the City of Albany are provided with a standard waste and recycling service provided by the City of Albany's waste and recycling contractor, Cleanaway Albany.

Cleanaway is responsible for delivering the City of Albany waste service to households:

  1. Weekly rubbish collection - 140L blue bin
  2. Fortnightly recycling collection - 240L green or yellow lidded bin
  3. Four weekly green waste collection - 240L bio bin (black bin with bright green lid)
  4. One bulk Green Waste and one bulk Hard Waste verge collection per year. A brochure will be delivered to each residence two weeks prior to the bulk collection, which will inform residents of their collection date.

Cleanaway also partners with City of Albany to deliver waste education programs. These programs help to ensure that residents receive the full benefits of the services provided, as well as engage the community in sustainable resource recovery practices.

Collection Services on Public Holidays

If your regular collection day falls on a public holiday, the City of Albany's waste and recycling contractor, Cleanaway, will still empty your bin. However, make sure you put your bins out the night before for your scheduled collection, as the trucks may collect your waste and/or recycling earlier in the day than usual.

Children and Safety

The City of Albany and Cleanaway would like to remind the community to take extreme care around the trucks whilst they are collecting. Please make sure that children are playing safely away from the trucks.
